Long Weld Neck Flange Design

A Long Weld Neck Flange incorporates an extended neck and tapered hub compared with a conventional weld neck flange. The extended neck can provide additional structural support and a longer transition area between the flange and pipe.

The flange bore and welding-end dimensions should be selected to match the applicable pipe size, wall thickness and project specification. For critical applications, material, pressure-temperature rating, facing and dimensional requirements should be confirmed before manufacture.

Pressure Classes

Long Weld Neck Flanges are available in Class 150, Class 300, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500 and Class 2500, subject to size and applicable standard.

Selection of pressure class depends on the piping design conditions, including operating pressure, temperature, material and applicable piping code/specification.
